This here is quality
Filter rape, motion tweens, dramatic music, and a purposely underwhelming loop ending. This is how you do spam folks.
Also, I totally lost it when I saw that the fetus was holding a gun.

Unnecessary
Putting a transparent green overlay and a few boxes here and there doesn't really justify this. You just put this crap on a few layers over footage of Halo 1 that was probably ripped from Youtube. It's a kind of cool idea - if you actually applied that to a Flash you drew, that could actually be pretty kickass. However, the time and effort it takes to use the rectangle tool and change one paint color's alpha are negligible. The only reason I can see why this has a score as high as it does is because of nostalgia for Halo 1.
I'm sorry but you're going to have to try harder than this.
Eh, oh well, back to the drawing board then.
It was after all, something I wanted to try for fun.
Only one thing missing...
It didn't have your adorable voice :(
I really enjoyed this Flash; the art and animation were both very nice. Not your best, but solid. I also always love hearing Ego and Tomamoto do their thing.
The best part in my opinion was the interviewer crying in front of the American flag. I'm not even quite sure why it was in there, I just found it hilarious.
Good work as always!
Not an original idea in there.
This Flash is nothing but repeated memes, audio clips, and old jokes from 5 or more years ago. I'm honestly surprised you didn't parrot the "PEELS" joke, along with any number of 4chan/Halolz L4D memes. There was nothing tying any two of these audio clips together, which just made the whole thing seem really thrown together.
Art and animation were both pretty dismal, but better than some first Flashes I've seen. I'll give you a 1 for effort. At least you admitted that the Flash wasn't good in the author's comments. Humility is a rare thing.
Keep practicing in Flash, and work on writing something that's at least less derivative than this. Even as a novice Flash user, you should be able to spot a bad script or bad idea while it's still in development. You could even say a bad idea could be "aborted" as per your username. Keep trying.
Overwhelming.
First things first - everything you do is made of beautiful. This was really, really pretty. There's just so much stuff going on at once that by the end, it's almost impossible to tell what's going on. Story is non-existent, but that's pretty much a given for Madness movies and fighting flashes in general. I greatly admire the speed of the whole thing, even if I can't tell what's really going on.
Are these 3D models? The action didn't stop long enough for me to really look (even with the pause button - nice touch) but they look really detailed and the camera moves around a hell of a lot.
Anyway, good work. While I didn't enjoy it all that much, it is pretty impressive from a technical standpoint. Keep up hte good work.
Atrocious
This was pretty painful. The sprites are of really poor quality, the animation is barely there, and the audio sounds like it came from your speakers into your microphone. Just import the audio files directly into the program. You can find tons of them just by googling "Mario sound effects" or "Mario mp3s" or something similar.
Do a better job cleaning up your sprites and audio, and maybe then you might have something watchable. This however, is in dire need of improvement.
This is the one to beat folks.
I was looking for something to watch, so I rolled over to the portal and saw this in the #1 of all time slot. After watching this, I can firmly attest that it belongs there.
The visuals were absolutely mind-blowing. I thought they were better than Adam Philips' stuff by a longshot. Incredibly stylish and animated above and beyond a professional standard. The fight scene in the darkened warehouse really gave me a chill it was just so good looking. Actually reminded me of Little Wheel, which has a kind of similar art style to yours.
Audio was of the same quality as the art and animation. You managed to find some quality voice actors, but the score was fantastic. Hania managed to capture the film in sound if that makes any sense. Absolutely fantastic, although I think you could have used a less overused gun sound effect. That's just nitpicking on a personal level though.
The package itself is so well constructed. You didn't need to have any special features in there, but I checked them out and they were fantastic too. Great attention to detail there.
Overall, I'd say you've completely raised the bar on what can be done with Flash. I've never seen anything of this quality on Newgrounds before, and even among professional animation I've seen on TV and movies this is pretty high up there. Every element of this film came together perfectly and made what I think is the greatest Flash animation of all time. It's criminal that this only has about 64,000 views at the moment, but I'm sure that will change as this movie will be in the #1 spot of the top 50 for a long time to come.
By the numbers.
I'll start off with something nice - the visuals and animation were really, really nice. Everything flowed smoothly, and the style was charmingly simple, yet well illustrated. Backgrounds looked good too.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say Zelda games and by extension Ocarina of Time are totally mined dry for humor. Navi is annoying. We knew that back in the 90's. It was still funny for a while, but it's really time to move away from that joke. To say it's beaten to death is a kind understatement. Violence as a punchline; when it's the only joke in the entire flash, isn't very strong either. I'll admit to using it myself on occasion, but it's admittedly weak humor. I can't say I've seen this joke pulled off while looking so pretty, but I've definitely seen the joke before on Newgrounds, let alone the rest of the 'net.
To end the review, I'll give you another positive comment - The frog blinking one eye at a time was a nice visual gag, albeit a familiar one. You've got some great visual chops - it's just a matter of finding a good script to accompany them.
Very simple, but enjoyable.
I really liked the conversational nature of this flash. It was really funny about how they can be talking about dying and be so nonchalant about it. The dialogue reminded me of Home Movies and other work by Loren Bouchard.
The art wasn't incredible, but it worked. However, I didn't really like the fact that the camera angle never changed. It was always from the exact same perspective, and something as simple as zooming in on a character while they're talking would really make this animation pop.
Good work, and I hope to see more from you in the future.
Thank you very much! I think Home Movies was great and that mundane style really does appeal to me. Im very glad you liked it!
A different angle or something changing would definitely have helped but I didnt really concentrate much on the artwork too much to be able to zoom in and keep the quality the same. Ill keep it in mind for enxt time though!
Thanks again!
Great art, mediocre writing.
The script in this was just pretty lackluster, especially at first. It was just an overly long yet unfunny joke, with tons of needless swearing. The joke about R&B to street basketball wasn't bad though. It actually got better after the beginning, but it only got out to a pretty mediocre standard. "Dick cleavage" is a pretty quotable line, I'll give you that.
The art however, was really, really good. It reminded me of Metalocalypse. It was pretty stiff though, even for symbol based animation. The characters all looked like they were standing bolt upright or posing at all times, with very little movement in their bodies. I can't fault you on this too much though, as you said in the description - you're not going to FBF a flash all about fart and dick jokes.
A plus note for having a rather long animation. It's easy for someone to just ride it out on one joke and have that be the entire flash. Each scene felt different too, which is a plus.
Overall I'd say the flash isn't bad, but really not to my taste. The voices all sounded the same (you voiced everyone so this is understandable, but still difficult on the viewer) and the jokes ranged from poor to modestly entertaining. I'm a bit divided on this flash as there's a good deal to like and a good deal to dislike. Congratulations on making the top 50.
I'm Camtoons. I make cartoons. That's not confusing or anything.
