Rare to see traditional animation around...

Love your style - really simple, but distinct. Actually reminded me a little bit of the critic and Home Movies - namely the squiggle-vision and conversational dialogue. The cartoon was funny and well written, really enjoyable.

PS - MassArt? I was thinking of applying there back when I was still trying to find a college for me. I'm going to college for animation at AI New England (more of a straight digital process, less traditional)

Anyway, great work, can't wait for more!

Megalantern responds:

MassArt taught a more directorial, experimental type of animation curriculum, and the film I put up here was done with After Effects and Photoshop, but the drawings were all done by hand and scanned in. So while not being outright flash, a lot of flash sensibilities are there. I'm actually learning Flash now from a Studio I was doing some freelance for, and it's really fun, so I hope to keep posting stuff up here. Keep at it yourself, k?

Cute.

First the negative points - the preloader sound was pretty obnoxious, and the first time I loaded it, it just wouldn't finish loading. Reloaded and it ran fine.
Positive - it's nice to see clean humor around on NG. Not many people like you and me stick to that sort of thing. The art was nice and simple, as was the story itself. Keep making more cartoons in this series; I'd really like to see what you can come up with next.

Mirak responds:

Yeah, i shall never use a preloader not made by me. :P
I had to download one because i was in a rush to finish it, so i didn't do it myself.

I didn't notice about the repetitive sounds on the preloader until my sister yelled in pain. I shall do more of this when i get a better plot, better backgrounds and better music. =P

Also, i was lazy on the sounds volume too, i should had lowered the bounce sound.

holy crap

that was amazing! i thought every possibility for 300 was exhausted, but you came out and made this!
great lip synching and animation, and great use of... gerard butler's head.
loved it, fave'd and five'd

Sh0T-D0wN responds:

:).

'Tis an honor to be fav'd.

better than the first!

i thought the first halomen was alright, enjoyable, but not front page material. this one, however, beat it in every single way. great follow up, can't wait to see what games you bring in the next one!

danomano65 responds:

Thanks mister.

i think i may give that reverse goatee a try...

about time some animations out there show some facial hair respect!
freaking brilliant stuff there, 5'd and favorite'd

Bobert-Rob responds:

Word up, represent, etc. Deh facial hairs have been glorified. Well, half of them. But that's sort of the point, I guess. Fraction beards are great. If only I didn't hate math... the world would be a better place for all. Thanks for the review!

shame your trial expired :(

because you had some good stuff going on there.
i suggest you splurge for the full version (or obtain it through illicit means, if that's your thing)
either way, it'd be a shame if we never saw anything from you again.

Perriwinkle responds:

Naughty, naughty =3

It's not like I haven't downloaded every single program with the word "Flash" attached to it, and found out they were all trojans.

Thanks for the review.

impressive

definitely one of the most brutal NG submissions i've seen... anyway, good animation and killer art - the only thing i'd work on is the music - all of it fit the animation, but the cuts between the songs were kind of stark and not very smooth. all in all, a damn good submission though!

MakoSucks responds:

Yeah I rushed on the sound in the end. But when the zombie reloads his gun and the music switches as if he is changing cds was awesome wasn't it? Thanks for watching!

fantastic

i liked that you took the madness style and really made it your own - more color, great atmosphere, solid voice acting and some fine animation. i really hope you continue this series, and can't wait to see what else you can do.

Alpha-Nuva responds:

Thank you. Those four qualities were my top priority. Animation may have been slightly shy of it's goal, but I'm glad you liked it. <3

pretty good

the animation was smooth, the art was simple, but clean, and there was some sort of a plot going on. however, the text went by a little too fast, and that techno song was just awful.
did i hear planetside music when the guy was falling? or was it just my speakers?
anyway, good submission, i'd like to see what you cook up next!

chickentuna responds:

Thanx for the postive score, and yes it was indeed planetside music..I was hoping it would pass unnoticed xD
Sorry you didnt like the music, i didnt have much at hand, next time ill go searching in the flash portal

nothing will touch the original

but that actually wasn't bad at all. synched up just fine, although curious - about half the lip synching is really good, the other half is just blinking mouths. also, the smashed body of the robot stays on screen till the end, long after he's supposed to be gone.
all in all, it was a good effort, well animated, and a bit creative. can't wait to see more of what you can do!

BillDing responds:

Thanks!
The robot glitch has been fixed, and sorry about the lipsync.
We must've been particularly lazy that day XD

I'm Camtoons. I make cartoons. That's not confusing or anything.
