Despite the fact that it's meme based humor

I really enjoyed that.

Something about Weegee really makes me laugh - I haven't the faintest idea why.

Decent enough art, kind of stiff animation, but entertaining work nonetheless.

Kyaztro responds:

Yeah, I've caughten on to all the originality issues here, but yeah I love good ol'
Weegee

Nice!

Very fluent animation, and a really solid art style. Everything looked very soft, very mutable, and energetic. The backgrounds looked almost as good, although they could have used a bit more detail. The kind of tripping scenes looked good too.

The script was funny - I'll admit I laughed when he jumped through the door to be back in the same room. When it wasn't plain funny like that, it was just strange enough to be entertaining. Solid script.

Good animation, good writing, and solid art. This get's a 4/5 and 8/10. Good work!

MagicWandLock responds:

Thank you for constructive criticism.

Not a bad start

If the flash is not finished, I advise against releasing it. What you have is a good start though. For a first animation, this moves really well. Animation is fluid, even though the art is rather uninspired; being stickfigures and all. Sound syncs up well until the very end, where there is no sound at all.

Hopefully you'll carry these animation skills over and put them into a story with your next flash. It would be great seeing these guys bounding around with a purpose, rather than just beating each other up for the sake of beating each other up.

u-tensity responds:

Thanks, I really need the constructive critisism. I'm finishind this part and I started the second part now, I didn't know that releasing would be like this...lol.

I'm from spp and the animaytion didn't upload there, and I thought uploding in NG will automatically install a preloader.

Oddly entertaining

The art was simple and the animation was rather stiff, but if anything that added to the appeal of the cartoon!

Honestly, if I were Egoraptor that is exactly how I would feel every time someone suggested the latest game to make an "Awesome" flash out of. Hell, I feel that way every time someone tells me to make a sequel. Anyway, that's another topic.

The concept of Egoraptor as a dinosaur was entertaining and inventinve. Watching him eat fans was also pretty entertaining. Good voicework helped this too.

Good work, but I would continue to work on the animation aspect of your work. Looking forward to what you make next!

Kyaztro responds:

this is by my standards, a spam flash, but don't worry I have plenty of "actual" animations coming your way

It's a start

The graphics, to put it bluntly, were not very good. Surfaces lacked detail, guns were just gradient blocks of grey, and characters were just shapes with no features.

The audio was pretty much standard sound, which is fine. However, the ripped audio from CoD4 sounded pretty hokey. If everyone actually spoke in something other than text, it might seem less so, but it's just odd for the sake of the movie that only some people can speak with actual sound.

To improve, I would purchase a mic and record the dialogue yourself. Also, I would work on detailing the backgrounds, characters, and weapons. Give them a sense of depth and character that they sorely lack now. As it is, there's just a few flesh colored circles running around. Make the audience care about your characters. As is, I could care less if they lived or died.

Hope you can take some of my advice into consideration for your next flash.

BradManThompson responds:

Hey, your right. It isn't that good. Also, I LOVE YOUR SUBMISSIONS. Your CoD 4 multiplayer parody was my inspiration, but my vid comes nowhere close to yours.

Dry humor, but a slow burn

The humor of this was rather funny, but it was a real slow burn. I love it when humor takes it's time, but some of this was just a little too slow for my tastes. Was still very enjoyable.

The art was excellent however, even if there was not that dynamic animation in comparison to the two heroes just standing around and talking.

Overall a solid submission with a lot going for it.

sirjeffofshort responds:

I can totally understand if it's not to your taste, thanks for the fair review anyways, you don't always see that. You made a lot of good points and things to work on for our next animations. I hope we piqued your interest enough to check out the next ones. Thanks again for the review.

Love the song

But the flash fails to do it justice. The fact that it's chiefly text does not make it very interesting to watch, and the color combination of red and blue clash so much that it strains the eyes. If you were to make a music video, with events that play out along with the music, you could have something really good. What you have now is really simplistic and not very entertaining.

Keep making flash, and you'll get better soon. Also, good taste in music. Make sure that stays intact!

acez0spad3s responds:

k thx for the review, i guess. future stuff will probobly take more time.

Rather "meh"

First, I'll start with the preloader. The blood splatters and copious amounts of red just make it really cluttered and ugly.

The background in the animation has a kind of cool, bleak style to it that the characters do not. They look rather lousy and are barely animated; just tweening along. The music accompanying them was a good choice though.

Not to spoil anything, but the screamer at the end sucks. It sounds like you just yelled into your microphone and spiked the mic. Also, the accompanying image of "It" is not the most terrifying thing you could find either. The flash as a whole would be better without the lame screamer at the end.

All in all, a fairly competent effort marred by a screamer and some iffy art. Keep trying, your skills can only improve.

adollfo responds:

THIS IS WHAT I CALL A GOOD FAIR REVIEW, THANKS =)

I enjoyed this too much.

I really don't know why, but I enjoyed this immensely. The planes didn't look amazing, nor did the background, but for some reason I kept on watching. It looped very smoothly as well, something not too many flash artists can do well.

In all honesty, part of me would love to see this become more than just a one shot joke, and become something like a Top Gun parody. Keep it up!

Tasty-Turnips responds:

This is the general point of the loop - glad you enjoyed it, it was just supposed to be something silly (or epic, if you want to look at it like that). This was the first thing I imagined when I heard the song. Thanks for the review!

Not bad

The art style here is very cute and simple, I like it. The song was a good one for the cartoon, and would definitely be a good opening for a future flash series with these characters. My only real suggestion would be to have the characters hop rather than just glide across the screen. It looks a lot more interesting when they're moving rather than motion tweening.

Also, they're holding the guitars upside down in the beginning, but that's just nitpicking :)

Angora responds:

Haha, sorry, I never played guitar ^^. And at first I did animate them bouncing, but wasn't satisfied with the effect. Plus I would be tormented to make a bouncy sound effect every 20 frames :D.
And by the way, the series tittle "No Time For Flash" was supposed to be an explanation to the lack of advanced animation :3. That's why it's sliding without any feet, and expression or "face" is closed into a head that doesn't roll around together with the eyes :D. I thought it's quite adorable though. I can do muuu-u-u-uch better, I just don't have time.
Thanks for the review ^^.

I'm Camtoons. I make cartoons. That's not confusing or anything.
