Not bad, but still same old Pong.

Pong games are all over Newgrounds, but yours is rather well done. The similarly themed music was really well put together and well chosen. I would recommend putting multiple music options into the actual game, like having a few tracks to choose between while playing. Not saying the one there is bad at all, but it would be nice to have some choice.

I will give some praise to the gameplay itself though - the controls were responsive, and the CPU paddle actually had some sort of AI running it. Most Pong games here just have the paddle going back and forth in a premade pattern, just tweening back and forth. Yours actually acted on it's own, which was rather nice.

A good version of Pong, but still just Pong. Hope to see you improve in the future!

Semi competent, some decent effort

The graphics of this just seemed like a traced .jpg, something very plain. That and stick figure badguys just made it look very amateurish. The music was just the same Dragonforce song everyone has heard a million times.

However, the control was fairly responsive, and stuff died in a somewhat satisfying way. A music and graphic overhaul could have made a better game, as the core code is simple, yet effective.

Good, but with some fundamental errors

The graphics were rather good, and fit into a nice cartoonish style. Controls were responsive and easy to figure out.

However, you missed the one fundamental rule of zombies: SHOOT EM IN THE HEAD!
I found myself emptying two clips into one zombie's skull only to realize that the only way to kill them is to shoot them in every limb. In all honesty, headshots should be the only thing that really matter with zombies.

The game could stand to be improved, but you have a solid game here. Keep up the good work.

A good start, could use improvement

First off, I will say I love the basic gameplay mechanic. Games like this are typically pretty fun and twitch reaction based.

However, games like this rely on a sensation of speed. Walls don't come up very quickly, and there is no moving background. If there was a simple background quickly scrolling to the left, the game would feel like it was going much faster, while simultaneously making the game more visually interesting.

I will say the minimalist, ASCII - like art looked very nice and fit the presentation well. I know a background might seem like it would clutter up the minimalist style, but it may be a good investment to put one in and up the framerate.

This was a fairly enjoyable game that left some good room for improvement. Hope to see more games from you in the future - possibly even a sequel to this game utilizing the ideas mentioned above. Keep it up!

Fantastic Pokemon parody

And a great representation of American politics as well.

The game play was a great approximation of the Pokemon formula, with different moves being effective against other Polimon. The graphics were also very nice and simple, which echoed the old Pokemon games as well.

My only real concern is that some Polimon use self-delusion too often and become nigh invulnerable. A friend of mine is playing and can't beat a conservative blowhard because he's used up all his moves and the blowhard keeps healing back to full health. I didn't have this problem too often, but he's dead in the water.

Regardless, it's a great parody and I look forward to seeing what other kinds of politics you can skewer soon!

Thanks for the feedback.

I agree with you (and others) that I need to fine-tune the "Self-Delusion" so it's a little less frequent. Though one way to keep them from self-deluding themselves is to confuse or put them to sleep when they get low on health. :)

Thanks everyone for the great feedback so far!

Same thing every day

One of these comes out every day. While they aren't bad per se, it's the same thing every single time. Try to break the formula a bit and try something new. Not that many people really enjoy mouse mazes, and the demand for them is pretty low. Putting out one every single day just shows how little time you're really putting into them. They're perfectly serviceable as mouse mazes, but that's not a very high standard to meet.

Try to break the mold and try something new. At the very least, make these more visually interesting than lines and gradient text saying "you lose"

Nice and old school

I enjoyed this for the most part, but only 30 seconds of gameplay is not enough. I figured it was the kind of old school racing game where you would pass checkpoints to gain more time, but, as hard as I tried, I could not get to one. The gameplay itself was very good though, it's just a shame it didn't last long.

Honestly, use the same engine to make a deeper racing game and you could be on to something really special. This serves as a nice demo, but little more.
Good work!

Oh.

I see what you did there.

Me too.

No idea what is going on.

I read the directions in the description of the flash, and tried to play, but it was pretty much impossible. There were tons of spinning balls moving too fast to avoid in your slow little blue dot, and the seizure inducing bars on the edges didn't help either.

There was just way too much going on screen to even call it a playable game. Even if any of my shots were hitting home (I have no idea if any were) I don't think they were really doing anything to Smithy.

Seizure inducing and spastic shapes aside, the game at least looked okay. Big fan of Super Mario RPG here.

better luck on your next flash.

Been done.

Someone else already made a Heroin Hero game here on Newgrounds. It came out around the same time as the episode, back when the joke wasn't quite so overplayed. Was funny then, old news now.
Also, it's spelled "Heroin." "Heroine" is the title of a female protagonist.

razzy07 responds:

Oh,Sorry and I know it was already done,I just felt bored.

I'm Camtoons. I make cartoons. That's not confusing or anything.
